directional boring

I was curious if anyone has a source to rent a directional boring unit? I'm looking into purchasing one but would be very interested in only renting one. The amount we would us it almost dosn't justify the purchase price. I've tried to find some place but no luck so far.

I heartily recommend hiring a contractor who does this, and not doing it yourself.

Check out local contractors that install water lines.They go under roads ect.

I have checked with local contractors and the price they want is outragous. I have a few thousand feet of 3/4 pvc to install around many obstacles. rather then going around I want to go under them, shortest path is a straight line.
The price that the directional boring contractors want would pay for 3 machines.
I know were all underground utlities run and the runs will be straight lines so I'm thinking it shouldn't be to bad.
