Disconnect bonding screws when to use?

I have ran power for my welder.
Welder will use 208 power...2hots and one ground from my plant 208 three phase panel. Using a 60amp disconnect then out to my 50 amp receptacle. My question is am I supposed to using the green bonding screw in my disconnect. What code requirement specifies this?

Is a bonding screw typically the equivalent size of the EGC required to bond the enclosure? I see nothing wrong with it but wonder if the listing of the disco allows using the neutral terminal as an EGC bus.

It seems to me that if the factory screw is big enough as a service bonding screw it would certainly be big enough as a EGC bond. I too sort of wonder if this really a technically compliant way to use a neutral bar. I will say that in my neck of the woods it is a fairly common practice though. Funny thing is you have to order the neutral bar, why not just order a ground bar that would be cheaper.

That said, I think the OP may not be asking this. I think he confused abound when a bond screw is required.

If you do have to order the neutral bar then I agree it likely is cheaper to just order a ground bar instead.

Some safety switches come with neutral already installed. If you have one of those and have no need for a neutral why not install the bonding screw and use it for EGC?

Bonding screw not big enough? If used for service equipment it has to be able to handle ground fault current that may be coming from metal raceways and via the enclosure anyway, so I sure hope it is big enough. If one bolted on the EGC assembly designated for that enclosure it likely has similar screw to bond it to the enclosure anyway.

If you run green conductor in all raceways it mostly is only bonding the enclosure, if you are using raceways for EGC that screw might be a little more critical if you transition from raceway/enclosure to a wire EGC. (say PVC for incoming circuit with green conductor but metal raceway for outgoing circuit as the EGC and the bonding screw is part of the path linking the two.
 
Am I right that many of the wires are too long and are bent wrong because of the extra length? I am new to some of these things...

There is no problem with the excess conductor length it's just a matter of choice for the installer. The conductors on the bottom appear to be different from the ones on the top, to me they almost appear to be conductors from a flexible cord.

If the disconnect has a green bonding screw, that disconnect is listed as suitable for use as service equipment. The screw is the main bonding jumper where the disconnect is used as service equipment. You can always use the neutral bar in service equipment for EGCs.
 
OT a bit. I saw some fittings that fit into the end of the strut that allows the strut to fit into the ‘I’ instead of using a beam clamp. Worked slick and allows for a neater install. I haven’t used them yet.

We bond via the green screw. Wire doesn’t look right but...
