Disconnect for Primary of transformer

If a transformer is located in another room from where the primary is fed from, is a disconnect required by Code or just for safety? I cannot recall if there is a section of the code that requires this. Thanks

The NEC does not require a local disconnect for a transformer. Primary OCPD is required, but that does not have to be at the transformer.
