Disconnect in garage?

Hi all,
Is a disconnect for a separate garage required for two circuits? The garage in question just ran two uf cables and then branched off of those two to supply the garage. Is a disconnect required? ie can a normal single pole switch be used if marked as a service disconnect? And if so could you direct me to the code section that I can use?

225.30

A building or other structure that is served by a branch circuit or
feeder on the load side of a service disconnecting means shall be
supplied by only one feeder or branch circuit unless permitted in
225.30(A) through (E).
