I have a existing 100A 1ph fusible disconnect that has #2 THW on line side. I will have to have power company temporarily disconnect service so i can change out disconnect as there is no Main Breaker an can I go to a #3 THHN Conductor for line side. The disconnect is serving a 15KW heat and a 2.8A blower motor unit. So 15kw/240v is 62.5A + 2.8A(blower motor) = 65.3A x 125%= 81.6A
So can I use a #4 THHN and go down to a 80A fuse for load, or do i have to use a #3 THHN and go up to a 90A fuse. I'm thinking i have to go up

The disconnect is existing but knife blade is broke. I will have to kerney another wire to extend as existing wire is going to be to short.

The disconnect is on a service gutter with 4 other disconnects. I was gona have to kerney and extension wire to make it longer to reach line side of disconnect. By Code a #3Thhn is good for 100A, was just thinking i could go with #3

You are talking about a short piece of wire, no? Why not just match what is already there?
