I had a inspector tell me that I needed a disconnect for a septic tank that has no pumps in it, only a float. It's basically just a 120 volt circuit in the control box that powers a alarm if the tank gets to full. When and if it gets full the city will come out an pump it down. Would this require a disconnect since there is no motor control for a pump? He said it did but I didn't bother to ask for a code reference. He didn't tag it just told me to fix it. Can someone point me to a code reference for this if he is correct?

Thanks

I think you made a mistake not requesting a code article for the "supposed" violation.

Call him back.

Oregon has "cite it, write it" rules requiring inspectors to note the article violated on inspection reports.
