Disconnect Required?

I have a Bakery buildout going on, within this bakery there is a 3 phase, 70 amp 208v oven. The panel which feeds this oven is located in the space, about 25' away. My question is; is the breaker 25' away adequate as the disconnect, or is a seperate disconnect required adjacent to the oven being served?

I'd say within sight and 50 feet your OK. Other opinions will vary.

What if there is a non-locking door seperating the back from front?(oven located in the front, panel in the back) Not exactly in sight, thoughts?

Boy thats a stretch. If you blink your eyes the disco in no longer in sight.

I'll most likely just put it in anyway, wouldn't be worth the battle, this is in Ft. Lauderdale, Federal and just north of sunrise, occasionally I get lucky and do some work close to home.

$180 for the switch, plus a couple fitting and extra wire. Time to mount and wire it. Sounds good.

I would go for the breaker is insight and use the breaker as the disconnect.
