Conditions: 30 HP Motor, 480v, 3 ph, 1725 RPM
In distribution panel I have an 80 amp, 3 pole 600 volt Westinghouse breaker. the full load amps are 38, wire size to motor is three #8 and one #10 THHN copper. the motor is remotely located.
Do I size the service disconnect for motor baised on the 80 amp, 3 pole feeder breaker (100 amp) or do I size it based on the load (60 amp)?
