Hi,

I have 418Ah battery bank feeding a fused switch (200A) that feeds the main breaker of DC panel (225A main). My question, Is it ok to have a 200A switch ahead of a 225A breaker? what code verify this in NEC ? what relates to the available short circuit current?

Note the actual current drawn won't be more than a 100A !

Thanks,

short answer: There is no violation for having a larger OCP device downstream from a small one. The 2nd basically serves as a disconnect.
Each would have to be properly rated addressing the available fault current present.
On AC systems series rating might be involved...I'm unsure on DC .
