Disconnect switch vs circuit breaker

Which would trip first? The disconnect switch or the circuit breaker? And does the amps of either one matter? Let’s say the disconnect switch is 100A & the circuit breaker is 40A.

A disconnect switch is just a switch and does not trip. If it is a fusible switch then the fuses may open.
You would need to look at the time trip curves of all of the devices to see which would open first. With high current faults more than one device may act to open the circuit.
