I have a 3phase 20hp 480 motor. Controlled by a vfd. My question to anyone does the disconnect switch have to be rated in hp, voltage and amperage.

I believe the disconnect must be rated in HP & voltage for sure--I assume the amperage will follow suit if the HP is correct

Is the switch going to feed the VFD or feed the motor down stream of the VFD?
