This is my first post, but I've been reading here for quite a while.

Does anyone know of a product similar to this http://www.lexproducts.com/catalog/coSwitch/powerGate.aspx but with a much lower price?

I am basically looking for a (fused?) disconnect for a 100A 208Y/120 load with egc and using the "series 16" cam-lock connectors as outputs. This would be installed to supply portable theatrical lighting equipment in a small venue that cannot afford the Lex unit above.

Thanks!

I know Cutler Hammer makes what you are looking for. They aren't cheap though. They are mentioned on page 8-44 of their '07 catalog. The 100 amp 3 pole fused 250v are about $1,300 and the 200 amp is $1,900. Good luck.

You won't find a made-up unit for anything approaching cheap. More often you'll see a row of panel-mount 1016s on the bottom of a disconnect or attached gutter, or you'll see five individual leads hanging out a connector on the bottom of the disconnect. I'm not saying that this is the absolutely correct way to do things, just that it's common.

If you do go the route of 1016s on a gutter- provide a complete set of caps on little cables (so they don't get lost), an eye bolt with some rope for a strain relief, and a nice big warning to "keep yer mitts off especially if you think you know what you're doing".

(I'm blatently ignoring any OSHA or related issues...)

That is very helpful, thank you. I hadn't seen the cutler hammer before - somehow I must have overlooked it. Either method mentioned is far less than the $5k+ that Lex wants for the product I linked to.

Thanks,
