Section 610.31 requires a disconnecting means for a feeder to crane rail conductors as follows: "Such disconnecting means shall consist of a motor-circuit switch, cicuit breaker or modled case switch." My question is, does a standard heavy duty safety switch (i.e. Square D Cat. HU363, 600VAC, 100A, Non-fused safety switch) qualify as a "motor circuit switch"?

Here is the NEC definition of Switch, Motor-Circuit.

Switch, Motor-Circuit. A switch rated in horsepower that is capable of interrupting the maximum operating overload current of a motor of the same horsepower rating as the switch at the rated voltage.
