I have a machine shop with 10 lathes. The feed consist of a 3phase 4wire 100Amp fused tap. The machine shop has its own 100 Amp 3phase 4 wire 42ckt panel. This panel has no main breaker since the tap is fused. Each of the 10 machines has its own circuit breaker and its own motor controller, with stop/start operation. The controller will not let the machinery re-start in case of loss of power. The Circuit breaker panel is in the same room as all the machines and is clearly within sight of all machine. Do I need an additional disconnect for each machine.
Please provide code section with your answers.
Any help is appreciated.

Re: Disconnecting means for motors

You do not need an additional disconnecting means. 430.102 (A) and (B).

This answer presumes that (1) The motor controllers are also within siight of the breaker panel (you did not say this), and (2) The distance from the panel to the farthest motor is less than 50 feet. Reference the Article 100 definition for "In Sight From."

Re: Disconnecting means for motors

Thanks Charlie: The answer is yes to both questions. All are within sight and 50 feet.
