If the service panel is going to be more than 6 ft. from the meter is there a Disconnect required next to the meter. If so Could somebody give me a code reference. Thank You

230.70 is what applies here.

If the panel inside is not near where the service comes through the wall, then you'd go with an outside disco, or one inside where the service comes through, then feed the panel from that.

Where it gets sticky is a service coming through an area that's not "readily accessable" (ex. a shallow crawl space). You wouldn't put the disco or main panel in a crawl space, so you'd want to go with an outside disco or consider entering somewhere else if possible. The idea is to avoid long lengths of unprotected cable inside the structure.

Re: Disconnects

It would depend on how the panel would be fed, under the slab,SER cable, back to backed ??
Under a slab no disc.SER cable yes its needed, back to back not needed.....
