Hello,

I am inquiring about clearance requirements for disconnect switches. I have several dorm rooms each with a 12 square foot mechanical space. In this mechanical space I have a heating cooling HVAC unit that requires 2 dedicated circuits.

CKT #1 44 MCA
CKT #2 21 MCA

I need to place the disconnects in this room. The ductwork above covers most of the room.

I believe I meet the requirement of 110.26(e). I do not believe I need to meet the requirement of 110.26(f).

If I have ductwork above these disconnects is this a code violation, I believe the answer to be no.

Ah, the typical 15Kw furnace. 60 and 30 Max OCP's, right? Purely a side question:

Are you using two separate discos, or 60-2 and 30-2 breakers in a 4-space box on a single cable?
