Discussion about NFPA 70 B

Since it is only a Standard and not an adopted code by any jurisdiction, the only groups talking about 70B, are maintenance related organizations that are trying to make a big thing of nothing. 70B is no more powerful than ANSI/NETA Standards.

As i understand it, NFPA70B can be used by any service organization, while NETA standards are only available to licensed service shops. For example a manufacturer's arrive group is not allowed to say they perform NETA testing.

NFPA is not certifying organizations to perform 70B testing or preparing maintenance plans, so any manufacturer / vendor group can perform testing based on 70B or ANSI/NETA testing standards.

NETA happens to take it another step, if you wanted a NETA certified testing company, they can provide a list of those that paid their membership and did their continuing ed.
