Yes, it's called the Shumann resonance, about 7.8 Hz.

As spock would say....fascinating K8 .....so now i wonder if living things do better at Shumann HZ, or maybe can't operate at all w/o it....?

If we are still talking about the earths magnetic field, there is no frequency. Its DC, with north on the top and south on the bottom.

"Schumann Resonance" refers to the frequency of the electromagnetic field of the earth. That's not the same as the 10 Hz resonance of the Earth that Tesla discovered.

I'll buy that. That's a frequency of about 2.5x10^-14. Can we call that DC, at least compared to a persons lifetime?

A magnetic field has no current. A moving magnetic field can cause current in electromagnetic substances.

But according to your link, that energy created by lightning, and is very small (1 picotelsa) compared to the earth's North-South magnetic field, which is DC.

Back in high school or junior college I had to do a physics experiment to measure the earth's magnetic field intensity. I don't know where to find that experiment at this time.

I was surprised when I recently had my granddaughter run the same kind of experiment. The present day measurement was much lower than what I thought I remembered from my old experiment.
