distance between boxes

I have been in the trade for 13 years now.. ever since i started I have been told that there has to be no more than 100 feet between boxes on a conduit run. Where does it state this in th code book?

Think about duct banks and well circuits. Hundreds of feet of continuous raceway is perfectly normal.

plumbing code requires a cleanout every 100'?don't think you'd share duties in this instance.

We would sometimes put C's in every 90'-100' for (fish tape) convenience but code only requires access at every 360 deg for pulling. I've blown mice well over 1000'.

edit: oops! (This was over ten years ago) Total run was approx 1500', there was an underground pull box at about 800', still a long run though.
