Do forklift chargers need to be gfci protected? I know EV's do but im not sure if this would fall under the same category for current code
 
The current code does not directly address a forklift charger. It appears they will be directly covered by a new article in the 2026 code. That article will require GFCI protection for cord and plug connected chargers.
