I have conduit seals with #10 and 12 xhhw, 16 gauge beldin sheilded cable and cat v. Do I need to seperate conductors in conduit seals before sealing.
If you do that with the internal conductors of shielded or CAT V cables, they will no longer work to their original specifications, if at all.
Not saying whether it is required or not, but it generally will not work if you are. :)

See Section 501.15(D)(1) and its Exception. Read both the main text and the Exception to get the full context. Note the Exception uses the term minimize rather than prevent. Ultimately, this applies to both Division 1 and 2. See Section 501.15(E)(1) and its Exception No. 2. You may also want to review 501.15 FPN/IN 1 and 2 although they don't speak directly to your question they also speak to the overall concept.

GoldDigger correctly identified a concept I call "safety by obstruction". That is, you can reach a point where something safe because it no longer works.

If I tried to get some situation to work by using fiber optic cable instead of CAT V for IP communication and somebody told me I had to strip the sheath off the fiber and bury it in mud, I would throw up my hands and look for a different job. :)
