on the one line The conduit labeled 1 between the disconnect and the meter packs do I need to install an equipment ground? the feeders coming into 'M2" are 120/208 3 phase 4 wire feed from utility transformer. the two sets of meters packs are in the same room just 10' away. And if i am required to do i remove the main bonding jumper in the meter packs. or do i consider the disconnect and the meter packs as one item and only pull the three hots and grounded conductor. then run a system bonding jumper between the meter packs and the disconnect M2? thanks for your helpfeeder sch.jpg

That, to me, is an interesting question.
My first response is to say "equipment ground needed", however, the meters throw a wrench in my answer.
250.142(B) Exception 2 allows the grounded conductor as the equipment ground on meters "immediately adjacent" to the service disconnect means.
Do you know if the meters in the 2nd section have the grounded conductor bonded ?

yes the way that the meter packs are set up with the termination box is for the ground and neutrals tied together. there is no location to land EGC's I would have to grind down the can and tap a bar on the can for them to have a place to land.

going to be an interesting situation for your AHJ :D
I would not consider 10 ft to be "immediately adjacent" but that would mean the meter could not use the grounded conductor as the equipment ground and altering them would be altering listed equipment.
I see a battle brewing.

Bonding at M2, M2 to meter pack is a feeder and needs equipment ground. No bonding at meter pack. Meter packs are available with tap boxes and isolated neutrals.

What brand meter stacks?

Every meter stack I've done lets you field install an optional bonding jumper bar with everything already separated. I've never seen one installed from the factory.

I agree. Look at this from the other direction. What you are referring to as the bar for the grounded conductor will in effect become the ground bar for the meter pack. The meter pack manufacturers I have dealt with will sell you a insulated isolated bar assembly that will be used for your neutral bar.

It is Square D . the meter packs have grounds and neutrals separated. In the termination can they is only busing for A,B,C and neutral with a bonding jumper down to the can its self. I am going to run EMT and install IGB's and remove the bonding jump.
thanks for all of the input

You don't need a equipment ground from the meter pack to the first disco, check out 250.92b. You can use the grounded conductor. The grounded conductor and the grounding conductor need to be bonded at the main disco.
