Do Nest Smoke/CO alarms meet IRC R314 and R315?

On their website, they do show they have alarms that are 120V primary power with battery backup.

However, I could not tell if they have to have a wireless internet router or hub to interconnect with each other.

Have any of you guys have experience with them & know how they operate?

Does your AHJ accept them as meeting the IRC? Are there any conditions?

Thanks!

Nest doesn't need a WiFi or Internet connection for the interconnect function to operate. You do, however, need WiFi to set up the interconnection. AFIK they are IRC compliant.

So you need an internet connection to program them to work together, but after that's done they talk to each other without having to have an internet connection or wifi hub? Will they continue to stay interconnected and communicate with each other during a power outage? If one goes into alarm, they will all sound the alarm?
