I have a customer in New Jersey who was fined by the township for using a cord connected 8,000 btu portable AC unit in her restaurant. Does cord connected equipment need to be permitted?

a lot of places don't allow cord connected a/c units in commercial establishments.
There should be reference to what was illegal right?
Maybe no a/c in commercial establishment?
Maybe covid related? I see mention about increasing outside air input here.

One would need to know what the actual code violation was before they could give the correct answer. It could be a department of health violation or as ritelec suggested something related to covid-19.
