I posted two responses to a thread this am and afternoon , and the prompter
thanked me for posting each time, but didn't post the responses....

?
 
The "prompter" is an automatic reply. It has no human intervention. However, all new members must wait for a Moderator to review their new comments, and approving the posting of those comments, before the comments will be visible to the Forum membership. It is part of the constraints to which each new member must agree, during the registration. It is our method of eliminating posting of advertisements and other forms of spam.

After you have posted a minimum number of times, the requirement for Moderator approval will automatically disappear.

I guess if I see this right away, I'm not considered "new". :)
 
The last time I checked the count, 479 users had been permanently banned. The vast majority of bannings took place in December and January. Since we instituted the requirement that a Moderator must approve all posts by all new members, the rate of banning has dropped off significantly. I take that to mean the process is working.

And no, Steve, you are not considered ?new,? in this context. There is a minimum number of successful posts a new member must make, before the person is no longer considered ?new.? I think I heard that that number was being changed, so I do not know what it is. I wouldn?t post the number, even if I was sure I knew what it was. But I suspect that it is fewer than 2665. :smile:

LOL. :)

The vast majority of the 479 members banned where members that only joined to post spam on this forum.

That means that Bob, with 13,884 posts, is absolutely ancient. ;)
