Do you think they could have put a little more effort?

Some here like to make fun of inspectors and that is fine. But in our daily travels this is just some of what we see.
This picture is the ground clamp on a water pipe for a newly installed service upgrade I inspected today.

At least they used green wire.

I would have removed the paint.

For the record, when I make fun of inspectors I always have a reason.

Yeah but that might be lead paint and a child could be walking by and the breeze could blow a chip of paint into the childs mouth and then they won't be able to learn the ABCs and then the lawyers and then blah blah blah......

No wonder I can't get it right: A, B, D, X, Y, Z. Heck, we lived in a lead box in my days. Not to mention playing on the plaground unpadded :D

Let me guess...it's the paint, right.

Pierre, it's hard to know how to respond to that. But you're right.

What do you suggest we all do about it?

Thats just plain lazyness or an after thought. 3:00 comes around and they realize they forgot the water bond. They didnt even make an attempt at the paint with their razor knife.

I hope you knocked this one down and slapped them also.

Kinda like cow tipping.

I don't think Pierre takes that approach. I'll venture to say he'll educate the guy professionally and move on.

Having made the world a bit safer as he goes.

was that the only violation pierre?

There are multiple violations on this job.

I just thought that this one is the definitive sign of:

1. They do not understand...
2. They do not care...
3. They are just plain lazy...
4. They did not expect me to actually look at the work...
5. They are just adding to the feeling I have been developing of the disappointment I feel towards the direction this industry has been heading.

Time to post some quality install pictures.

Like you've done before.

Focusing on the negative. We do that a lot around here. We show a lot of what's wrong, but mabey we need to show a lot of what's right.

Chin up Pirrere.

I agree with this completely.

#5 Is particularly true and troubling.

#5 for sure

Pierre you have to admit that we electricians on this board will "make fun" of just about any one in this profession ,.in fact I think we are pretty tough on each other and that is a good thing.
