Hi all, I'm wiring a doctor's office in a medical building. I am adding a few receptacles in rooms where the doctor will see patients and a few by the receptionist desk also.
I've read the chapter on health care and I understand that an insulated ground needs to be in the wiring.
My question is for the receptacles can we use 12/2 bx with a green ground ( we have some around) or is MC cable acceptable. Or do I have to use Hospital green cable?
Sorry to be vague and thank you for any help.

In any of the patient care areas the circuit must be in a metal raceway or cable which has an outer sheath that qualifies as a grounding conductor along with an insulated grounding conductor..
This would normally include your BX cable (AC) if it has the insulated ground or some MC cables which I believe are identified as MCAP.

This is not necessary in the office.
Code reference ie 517.13
