does a incandescent bulb that 130volt really take 300 watts. I was running 8 300 watt 130 volt bulbs incandescent on one breaker that was 15amp totally 2400. How is this possible? Do 130 volt incandescent bulbs take less electricity because they are dimmer?

I'll answer your question, but I have to close the thread because of the forum rules.

You are a student, so look at Ohm's Laws and using what you know; power (300W) and voltage 130V):

1) Determine the resistance of the bulb using the bulb's rating; R = V2/P
2) Calculate the power (watts) using that resistance value and the new voltage (120V) using P = V2/R
