does anyone know AFCI plug now? From Aug.1,2004 all the air-conditioner should be installed AFCI plug. so ... who can supply ???

Re: Does anyone know AFCI plug?

I don't think there are AFCI receptacles available.
There is no requirement to have air conditioners protected by AFCI by 8/1/04 unless it is a new receptacle in a bedroom. Then you'll place an AFCI breaker in the panelboard serving that circuit.

Re: Does anyone know AFCI plug?

440.65 Leakage Current Detection and Interruption (LCDI) and Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI).
Single-phase cord-and-plug-connected room air conditioners shall be provided with factory-installed LCDI or AFCI protection. The LCDI or AFCI protection shall be an integral part of the attachment plug or be located in the power supply cord within 300 mm (12 in.) of the attachment plug.
This would not be a field installed device. It will be installed on the air conditioner by the manufacturer.
