As long as the particular strut is listed as a raceway you can use it as such. check the manufacturers information.

I do not believe slotted strut is listed as a raceway, you would need solid strut with a cap and all other parts listed for use as raceway fittings.
I have worked with strut raceway and in the right application it is slick.
