the leviton one I have used for auto lights but not for security circuits, although I have used a similar idea in security switches mounted on the hinge side of the door... when door is opened the plunger pushes itself out, breaking the connection and letting the monitor system switch on the cameras etc... bit of a bother fitting it, especially in metal door frames, but never seen one tricked by thieves... have used more than one for windows as well, so can let windows stay open for breeze at one height... yet raising them sets off second switch ... fun stuff doing diy alarm systems using parts from radio shack in USA and Maplin in UK.. now both out of business so need new sources.
