Doorbell circuit

I ran across a situation where I found 1 doorbell button switching two chimes each powered by their own transformer. It worked for a while but now seems to be malfunctioning. Any suggestions on what the problem could be?

Can you just get rid of one transformer and put in a 30va trany.

Suggestion:
Do what I did.
Instal wireless chimes.
The front door has a traditional ECDg gDEC ding dong.
For the back door it has me saying "You have a back door visitor".
;)

If nothing was changed, one or both may have gone bad.

If one was replaced, maybe the relative phasing was reversed.

It could also be the arcing has damaged the button contacts.
