Chapter 10 of the IBC and I believe 7 of NFPA 101, talk about the limitations on door widths relevant to their opening up into egress hallways; that they may not infringe on the required width of that corridor by more than 7 inches. I know that on past projects, we've forgone that requirement based on the fact that electric room doors are not normally being utilized.
If that is a legitimate exception, I can't find it. Does anyone know if such an exception exists?
Thanks,
Mike
