I have fraternity house that has dorms. Public corridors and public places i.e non dorm units are provided with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors that are tied to the Fire alarm control panel in the frat house.

However in frat house dorm units themself are provided with smoke and carbon monoxide alarms that are NOT tied to the fire alarm control panel.

Is their any code that says inside dorm units has to be smoke detectors or smoke alarms? Which code says detector or alarms to use case above?

Try NFPA 72.
You may get a few answers, keep in mind this is a forum on the NEC - NFPA70. Perhaps there is a fire alarm forum you could try

I believe the building code will tell you whether fire detection is needed for the given occupancy - then NFPA 72 tells you how to install.

IBC chapter 9

907.2.9.3 Group R-2 college and university buildings.
An automatic smoke detection system that activates the occupant notification system in accordance with Section 907.5 shall be installed in Group R-2 college and university buildings in the following locations:
1. Common spaces outside of dwelling units and sleeping units.
2. Laundry rooms, mechanical equipment rooms, and storage rooms.
3. All interior corridors serving sleeping units or dwelling units.
Required smoke alarms in dwelling units and sleeping units in Group R-2 college and university buildings shall be interconnected with the fire alarm system in accordance with NFPA 72.
Exception: An automatic smoke detection system is not required in buildings that do not have interior corridors serving sleeping units or dwelling units and where each sleeping unit or dwelling unit either has a means of egress door opening directly to an exterior exit access that leads directly to an exit or a means of egress door opening directly to an exit.
