Dose 12 volts swimming pool lights need GFIC protection?

Sorry for the confusion, I was asked by a pool company that if they install 12 volt lights with a transformer, that will bring up the volts to 14 volts , being under the water , in the pool,does it need to be protected by GFIC?

15V or more require GFCI protection. NEC 680.23 (A) (3)

We do however use GFCI protection regardless. It's an inexpensive insurance policy for you and the pool company.
Be sure of the bonding on the light as well if it's a wet niche installation.
