Downsizing wire

I got 6’s feeding a 60 amp disconnect, am I able to downsize to 10’s or even 12’s if the motor I’m wiring up only pulls 10-11 amps?

The motor conductors are sized at a minimum of 125% of the FLC jn Article 430. The OCPD can be larger than the rating of the conductors but more info is required. 60 amps for a 10 amp motor load is likely too large.

If the OCPD is the same as the disconnect (60A), I agree with Infinity.
