I have a job site converted 4 story factory turned into self storage units Historic section of San Franscio. Side walk is 10' wide to curd than wooden power poles that have (2) 12,000 volt lines. We have a 4' wide projecting sign from the side of the building. Pacific Electric refuses to drape the lines, they say drapes are no good over 1000 volts. They would be happy to move the lines for 50K,NOT AN OPTION.
I can bring in a 200' Hydro crane set up in the center of the street, swing the sign 50' above the power lines than with guide ropes lower it right down the side of the building. My installers can work from a 55' knuckle boom to bolt the sign into place.
The man basket would be 6' feet from the power lines.
My first concern is worker saftey does anyone have any other ideals or saftey concerns or suggestions.
Why would they not drape, I can find nothing in the NEC that would prevent it.
I have site photos, but not a clue how to post then, but would email them to anyone that can help.
