Does anyone have experience in drawn and arc stud welding process? I have couple of question about troubleshooting the weld issue. Thanks in advance!

Does seeing it done and holding the gun count?
My son worked at a heavy equipment factory that did some of that. I happened to visit one day...
Sorry, that’s all I got..

Drawn arc stud welding may imply a production process. In these applications you are usually in a hurry to get answers.

At both Buick and Pontiac in 1971 I had gaging equipment that ran at a production rate of one part every 12 seconds, that is a car every 12 seconds. When there is a problem it needs to be fixed in a hurry. In following years the lines my equipment was on ran at somewhat slower rates. More in the range of 15 to 60 seconds. Then at Caterpillar it was more like 5 minutes per cycle.

This did not mean fewer end products were being built per unit time. Rather it meant more were floating pallet systems, rather than positive transfer, and that greater than 9 seconds of station work time was needed for quality. Generally it takes 3 seconds for pallet transfer.

My gaging equipment, over the years, probably built over 100 million axles.

If you ask somebody a question you don't normally walk away and come back days later for the answer.

On site like this you can't necessarily expect an answer within minutes either. 24-48 hours is fairly reasonable to give enough users a chance to chime in though.

And we’re past that. He probably realized this might not be the best place to get an answer for his topic and/or he found his answer somewhere else.

The next time we get one of these questions (interesting how the forum is found) I will just say This is an NEC Forum, we have a lot of experience here on all sorts of subjects, so just be patient for an answer.
We did get one a while back on ultrasonic welding, the OP wanted basically know all there is to ultrasonic welding, he kept asking, we all told him to contact the mfg of the welding machine. He was from overseas somewhere

How about "This is an NEC Forum. We have a lot of experience on all sorts of subjects, but we constrain ourselves here to NEC questions only."

I think some of these people use the shotgun approach. Ask the question in as many likely forums as possible then sit back and watch for the answers to roll in.

HB you may be right on the shotgun approach. Also we see the posts from non NEC countries, and I try to let them know this is an NEC forum.
Perhaps the forum scores high on the search engines
