We are looking at single family home that has spotlight fixtures installed in a drop ceiling in the basement. The drop ceiling is about 12" below the floor joists. The fixtures are wired with Romex. The typical Romex runs are about 18" from the fixtures to where they are secured to the joists. Is this acceptable, or is metal clad cable required for these connections? Thanks.
