Hello,
I just purchased a new dryer and connected 4 wire as follow, see pic:
dryer connection

Well I plugged it in and it did not start. Problem is I am no electrician and have no clue, just tried following the steps as directed. My old dryer had the white wire hanging loose with the black, green (middle), and red connected. The new connection was not the same, the middle wire of the dryer connection is white with yellow, so I screwed the white wire from the plug with the middle yellow and white. The green wire I screwed with green ground screw. Is this wrong? Should the green be with the white and yellow wires of the dryer? Thanks for your help in advance! rebpan

Re: Dryer Connection

The best advice any one could give you is to call an electrician. A incorrectly installed cord could cost more than the service call you will be charged.

Re: Dryer Connection

Thanks, already called my electrician just waiting for his call. I was just curious to know if I did it wrong, I wouldn't even attempt to plug it in again or mess with it.

Sorry, this NEC? Forum is for those in the electrical and related industries. Questions of a "How-To" nature by persons not involved in the electrical industry will be removed without notice.
