Dual classification

I have an area the is identified has Class I DivI and Class II DivI, does the equipment going into that area have to list for both classification? I know wiring method Class I is suitable for Class II, but not so for equipment.

In general, yes; however, the detailed answer to your question is in Section 500.8. The most general statement is in Subsection 500.8(A)(1), but the entire Section is fairly long and should be reviewed since there are several things to consider.
