Duct Bank Labour

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had some insight into labour rates for a duct bank. I'm looking at 6x5" schedule 80 PVC ducts (2 high, 3 wide arrangement), it's a straight run (no bends). I've got a handle on excavation, but my question is regarding the installation of the ducts (and all the spacers, pullstrings, etc that go along with them) and the concrete.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Your profile says engineer, you should be telling us, what it is, many of the engineers like to use the means cost books, they have duct bank assemblies with unit break down, just apply your rates and your all set.

I have no idea having lost on the one I asked about 80gal. of glue few months ago; like 1/3 my price. Hmm wonder if they are ready to sell some tools yet???

Yeah I have the NECA book and I'm plowing through it... I'm getting maybe 1.5 man-hrs a foot. My issue is that a pre-cast trench manufacturer quoted about 3.75 man-hrs/ft to install his trenching... I'm trying to justify using pre-cast trench over a duct bank, but this labour rate is killing the bottom line. I really can't see how installing a pre-cast trench can be anywhere near the amount of work as installing a duct bank!

Your, pre cast will usually have higher delivery costs, and rigging costs, and may require additional labor to install struts .
