Last week I took the 02 administrator exam in WA. Most of the questions were about duplexes, but the codebook doesn't have any examples questions about them.

The questions would be formatted something like this:

A duplex has two units of 1900ft²

Include:
14Kw Heater
5A disposal
11A dishwasher
4500va HWT
2x 21A @240v A/C

Find the minimum service amperage.

Some asked for standard, some asked for optional.

My numbers were close to my 4 answers, but none of them exactly right.

Wondering if there's tips for duplex calcs, and more info on the optional method of calculating for 3 units instead?

You should get a tom Henry load calc book. You can even bring it with you when you do the calcs. The test will have the most common wrong answers along with the correct one. Any answer that isn't exact won't be correct.

What did you come up for the answer? What were your choices?

Thanks for the suggestion. I got one and it really helped w the multifamily calcs, but still didn't have a standard method example for duplexes. W/e. I passed and don't have to worry about it anymore. 😅
