Hello everyone,
I’m trying to wrap my head around how to do service and feeder load calculations for duplexes, and I’d appreciate your insights.
To my understanding I should calculate the load for each unit using the standard single dwelling unit method to figure out the size for the main panels. Then, I would add both load summaries I calculated from each individual unit to get the service size for the entire building. Does this make sense?
Secondly, can I use 220.82 for each dwelling unit and then combine those calculations for the overall service size, assuming the main service and feeders to each unit are all over 100A?
Lastly, I know about 220.85, which allows for using 220.84 for duplexes, but my project is based on the 2011 NEC.
Thanks you! any help would be appreciated.
