Question -
When completing a Dwelling Calculation with a Detached shop (20x20), how do I add the shop load to the Service size?

The shop will have a ductless mini split & a 60 Amp welding circuit.
Is the sq. ft x VA added to general lighting load and mini added under heating/ac?
Thanks

See 220.40
I'd use 220.12 for the lighting load.
440 for the HVAC
220.14 H or I for receptacles
220.14(A) & 630.11(A) for the welder

Good question, since a workshop is not a dwelling its almost like two separate calcs that you then add.
Like for shop receptacles you can use 220.44, but you probably would never hit 10 kva.
And in T330.42 the demand factor for dwellings units and say storage space are different.

If it could be considered a farm you might take a look a t 220.100, that gives you a pretty big demand factor.
