I'm referencing an old thread from a few years ago, regarding the optional calculation for residential buildings:
Are you allowed to apply the optional calculation to a sub-panel, as long as your feeder conductors to that sub-panel are #3 AWG or greater?
Or does the optional calculation strictly apply to the main panel of the residence only (with #3 AWG or greater)? And then you apply the standard calculation to the sub-panels.
