dwelling water services

I want to check my thoughts on 2 scenarios:
I also have 2 direct questions to ask.

Scenario 1:

Single metallic water main enters dwelling and splits to 2 water meters.

I run continuous conductor from meter bank, bond water line where it enters dwelling and continuous conductor jumps across 1 water meter. (I could just jump meter non-continuously).

Then I just jump across 2nd water meter.

Scenario 2:

2 metallic water lines enter dwelling each serving 1 water meter.

I run continuous conductor from meter bank to 1st water line where it enters dwelling and jump water meter.

I run a separate continuous conductor from 1st water line where it enters over to the 2nd waterline where it enters dwelling and jump that water meter.

My 2 separate questions:

1. If you find waterline from street is still lead:jawdrop:, do you put a clamp on it or do you clamp where it first changes over to copper/steel/brass?

2. When bonding 1/2" or 3/4" waterlines with 1/0, do you use a mechanical lug attached to the clamp or do you put the conductor between the clamp and the water pipe? (since it doesn't fit in the manufactured hole provided).

I use a lug, but I've run across it the other way and wondered if it was acceptable.

My answers:
1. IDK, never ran into that before. My guess would be to hit a copper/steel/brass fitting as long as it were within the first 5 feet of entry to the building.

2. find a clamp that will accept your larger GEC. Here is one for 1/2" to 1" pipe that will accept 4/0 AWG. http://ecat.burndy.com/Comergent/en...geType=catProductDetailMob&showAddButton=true
