anyone familiar with spacing requirements of an engine generator's min distance from the building, if any?

its a 25kw nat gas in a pop-over metal enclosure.

building is classed industrial... aircraft hanger.

I had the same thing pop up in a residential generator installation. The mechanical (or was it plumbing?) inspector said it was too close to the wall, and raised the issue with the electrical inspector, who agreed with him and failed me.

My inspector said the county had no exact specs ("I can't define it, but I know compliance when I see it."?), but that we had to follow the manufacturers instructions (of course.) Naturally, the instructions said to comply with local requirements.

Somehow, I ended up proving I was compliant by showing there were no requirements I failed to meet. There were no louvers on the back side of the cabinet.

The customer wanted the genny tucked as much behind the bushes as possible to shield it from visibility from the street.

What kind was it Larry? I know the small Generac 25's and 40's our resi guys install have clearence spec's bucause I here them talking about them.

I believe the only local guidelines they follow are min. distances from property lines and easements.

Chris,
I think that the last one I put in Dade County they didnt have a requirement as to how close it was to the building. They were more interested in how close it was to the property line and that the exhaust was 10' away from a window, vent or packaged AC unit.
I know Guardian wants them to be 3' to 5' away for breathing room.
