Did this job yesterday. Client wanted eight recessed lights in a converted garage/playroom. The layout goes a lot easier when they provide a graph paper floor made with 12" square tiles.

Marked the layout on the floor and then transferred the marks to the ceiling with a handy laser.

Wiring was a breeze too. The attic access was in the same room I'm working in. I demo'ed two fluorescent fixtures and reused the power feed. You can see the two j-boxes before they were covered with blank plates. Here's the finished ceiling.

It was nice to have a easy one for a change.

I want to see more of the musical gear. Looks like a Line 6 Spyder and an Alesis E-Kit. I really want to get a e-drum set to play in my garage. I sold my last drum set a couple of years ago to Josh Thompson’s drummer; it was right before I got married and just didn’t have room for them once we combined households.

I miss them.

Looking at this pic and I kind miss being single

Also, I installed some recessed fixtures this week and used those 6” trims with the j-box on top and selectable color temp…. Have you seen those? They were really a breeze to put in. I like the spring clips vs the type on the remodel cans. Much easier to set in place.

I'm going with 4 inch in the bathroom and maybe 2 inch in the shower.
Do you like the selectable color and do you think they will last? (time wise)

Before selectable color I always installed warm white. I never consulted the client about this. Seemed like a can of worms to bring up. I only had one complaint in five years and I had to change several trims to daylight color. There is not much to dislike about selectable color. You just set it and it probably never changes so the switch doesn't get worn out. A few extra electronic components to blend the LEDs. (I suspect there are two colors in there that get blended to achieve all the five colors.) One more point of failure though. I suspect they will last as long as the non-changeable will.

Depends on the brand of CCT tunable lights.

I've used some from Menards, not only the slim recessed but flush mount, too, and the color changing failed after less than a month.

I'm gonna be using 3-, 4-, and 6-inch Utilitech from Lowe's on my next whole house. Total will be 105 of them inside and out. I'll try to give an update after the finish is done

From what I remember, the higher color temp are more efficient. The driver current is changed to change color.
