Got a text from a friend with a question on putting the Fedder egc's on the neutral bar inside the switch gear that has a neutral disconnect link. This is service equipment and the only GEC he saw was #6 in the GEC marked location(line side of link). This switch gear is 208/120, 1200 amp. I told him the EGC's should land on the provided ground buss not the neutral bar do to testing if the link is removed.

First thought was a #6 only GEC to a single driven Rod in fairly new commerical metal/ wood building. Service built in 2019.

So did I tell him correctly or do I need to learn something about the termination of the egc on the netutal bar for this installation.

Yes there is ground fault protection installed in the switch gear.
I don't see how this could test out if link was removed.

Thank you in advance.

I don't believe that is a code issue. As far as I know the neutral disconnect link is only intended to comply with 230.75 which requires a means of disconnect for the grounded conductor.

Yes, I understand the ground fault testing issue, but that appears to be a design issue and not a code issue.
